Review

Platypus is an amazing and original shooter game created with claymation graphics which makes it look completely different from other similar games. In addition to the outstanding graphics and sounds, the game is pretty easy to control and play. The game includes 6 levels with a particular theme each, and you can play alone or with a partner, which is a plus. Of course, as in any shooter, you have to destroy the enemy ships or they will certainly kill you. Apart from your basic gun, you have other weapons that work on a timer system that will be specifically necessary on the later levels. The game offers a great variety of power-ups, but they only last for 20 seconds, so be sure you use them wisely. Five of them can be obtained by destroying specific formations of enemy fighters, and other are provided throughout the game. The levels are rather short, so you will finish the game in no time, specially if you are playing with someone. However, as the enemies are not so easily killed, it ensures a reasonable challenge, so you will be never get bored. It supports Windows XP, 2000, and Vista.
Advantages
  • Amazing graphics and sounds. Many power-ups. Multi-player.
Disadvantages
  • Short levels.
